Challenge: Texas Instruments asked NAS to design a high-impact ad that would appeal in both style and content to graduating college seniors. Our goal was to position Texas Instruments as a leader in some very specific areas of technology, but also visually create a contemporary image that shows the company as an exciting, fun place to work.

Solution: NAS developed a full-color trade ad to give Texas Instruments a new,dynamic look designed specifically for the target audience. The bright, color photo of rubber ducks and a unique typestyle design combine to create a strong and immediate impact on the page. Our message of teamwork is enhanced by the humor of the visual. The actual positions are prominently featured, along with the company tagline. The ad highlights a very specific technical environment and balances the visual with key information about the innovative technologies at Texas Instruments.The overall difference of the ad from typical recruitment advertising makes it an attention-getter and allows the company to stand out in a highly competitive field.

Results: Texas Instruments ran the ad in a national college trade publication. They received favorable comment from industry professionals and a very satisfactory response from the target audience. This ad was also selected as one of 1998's best by Human Resource Executive. In anticipation of a more concentrated college recruitment effort, two additional, related ads were developed to carry the concept further.
