Challenge:
When NAS met with the nursing recruiters of The University of Colorado Hospital, there was one pressing matter on their minds: How to proactively seek and socially network with the nation's passive group of nurse candidates (especially OR nurses), who continued to remain so elusive. UCH was concerned that the Denver market was-and still is-experiencing extreme competition for that specific group of candidates. UCH expressed that timing was an important factor in both getting and keeping candidates engaged long term.
Solution:
NAS brought in a panel of experts from Jobster, a premier online job search and recruiter engine, to meet with the nurse recruiting staff of UCH. The panel presented a demonstration of how Jobster uses referral networking to put jobs in front of the best prospects wherever they are. With Jobster, UCH could then build a network of talent-including great people who might not be actively looking-and track everything from job listings and emails to an ever-growing referral database of harder-to-find, passive candidates. This would be accomplished with a unique combination of the latest online marketing techniques and social networking technology.
Results:
UCH was so impressed with the presentation that they bought one "recruiter seat" on Jobster on July 1, 2006. As a result, UCH has amassed a database of over 3,500 names to date, with 41 jobs currently posted and 56 hot prospects. They have also created five different databases that will inevitably lead to even further hiring success.
