  • What we learned at HR Tech 2017

Members of the NAS team were in Las Vegas last week (October 10-13) for HR Tech, showcasing our ACTIVATE™ candidate attraction platform and discovering a wealth of new technologies for HR recruitment. We asked them for a re-cap of the experience and to share their observations. Here’s what they had to say:

Matt Adam | EVP & Chief Talent Strategist

The scene was electric this year. We saw lots of new startup vendors mixed with the giants of
the industry. Since this is the show where many vendors unveil new versions of their platforms and solutions, there is a palpable sense of anticipation and excitement. Artificial Intelligence was a featured topic this year. Many people talked about trying to make sense of all the different options. That’s why it’s important to have a partnership with an agency that can help you sort through the buzz and identify the value of the product and how it meets your specific recruitment needs.

It was really exciting – there were a lot of people in attendance this year! From our vantage point, as well as interaction with the crowd, this year’s conference was an interesting mix of current clients and potential partnerships. The big buzz was around AI, expanding upon traditional employee recognition, and there were several new startup companies that focused on post-recruitment activities. We were able to explore many networking opportunities and meet a lot of talented, creative people.

AI and Google were the buzz. This year, the environment really felt different as this technology is becoming more accessible and effective for talent acquisition…more so than ever before. Google was in attendance and the focus involved using their powerful data to optimize and serve up relevant results to job seekers. While new technology is impressive and makes sense, it takes time and money to invest and implement. Organizations with a smaller TA team could be left behind and need to partner with the right organizations to make the right moves.
